Whatever the season, beauty abounds in the natural setting of northern Michigan,.
Spring brings Trilliums, Lady Slippers and carpets of delicate wild flowers ~ and, if you're lucky, those elsuive Morel mushrooms!
May we suggest driving north along M22, the Circle Michigan Tour? Or 'the back way' to Manistee and Traverse City, or east to Cadillac?

And we have miles of soft white sand beaches with Public Access at Onekama and Franfort. And. of course, a 40 minutes scenic drive will take you to Sleeping Bear National Park.

bikeBike and Walking Trails

We offer a set of local bike tour maps and can provide you with a selection of great trips for all abilities and all desired distance - from a short pedal to 'Iron Man'! There are stores locally in Beaulah and Manistee who will be happy to help with repairs and accessories.
For the walker, take a stroll along the East Shore of Bear Lake itself. We have a selection of other local walks and hikes - such as the Legacy Art Park trail at nearby Crystal Mountain.

For the fishing and boating enthusiast, or if you just like to soak up the atmosphere, we are located close to Lake Michigan access at Frankfort, Arcadia, Onekama and Manistee. Check the Michigan Department of Natural Resources web site for what's in season. Bear Lake itself has great pan fish! There is a bait store in town and a local Marina to help with supplies and repairs. River fishing on the Manistee, Betsie and Pine. BACK TO THE TOP
